Martha Maher Kelly & Mary Murray recently completed the 165 km journey from Strokestown, CO Roscommon to Dublin, along the Irish Famine Way. Martha and Mary walked in support of the Ottawa Food Bank and raised $5,000. The walk is to commemorate the Strokestown tenants who walked from Roscommon to Dublin in 1847. From there, they were transported to Liverpool before the onward trip to North America. Many died on route. Martha and Mary recount their journey along the Royal Canal.
