Noel McDonnell & Craig Hamm - Jim Kelly Memorial Tournament Honoring a Diplomatic Legacy: Jim Kelly Memorial Tournament Unveiled by Irish Communities of Ottawa and Eire Óg Hurling Club The Irish Communities of Ottawa (ICO) and the Eire Óg Hurling Club (Ottawa GAA) announced the launch of the Jim Kelly Memorial Tournament, a Gaelic sport event set to take place on 8 August 2026 at the Twin Elm Rugby Club, Richmond, Ontario. The tournament will feature both hurling and Gaelic football matches and will serve as a living tribute to Ambassador Jim Kelly, who served as Ireland’s Ambassador to Canada (2016‑2020) and later as Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations before his sudden passing on St. Patrick’s Day 2022.
